At the Kahler Hall primary candidate’s forum last Tuesday, Calvin Ball told me that Reginald T. Avery will in fact challenge him for his council seat in District 2 in the general election as a Republican.
This comes as no surprise to the loco politico prognosticators. After Reginald failed to submit the 330 signatures required by August 2nd to get his name on the ballot as an independent, he has apparently fallen back into the welcoming arms of the GOP.
Mr. Avery remains a bit of an enigma. Larry Carson previously reported that he refused to speak with reporters until after he had amassed enough signatures to get his name on the ballot. Having failed to do that, he still remains a mystery man to most voters.
With Earl fast approaching I suppose it’s any port in a storm for the GOP in D2.
