The remnant winds of Hurricane Earl did not have Beatrice Capra’s back today. Her storybook run at the US Open came to and end this afternoon when Maria Sharapova defeated her 6-0, 6-0. According to this report by Erin Bruehl “The conditions at Arthur Ashe Stadium were tough for both players, with a strong wind whipping around towels, trash and even Capra's visor off of her head. Capra also repeatedly needed re-toss the ball on her serves.”
It was still a great run for the eighteen year old Ellicott City native and undoubtedly we will hear from her again.
