Beatrice Capra from Ellicott City stunned the tennis world yesterday by defeating the 18th seed at the U.S, Open Tennis tournament in New York. According to this story by Andrew Conrad in The Columbia Flier, “Capra pulled off a second-round upset over 18th-seeded Aravane Rezai of France, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3. Capra, a wild-card entry ranked 371st, is the youngest player left in the women's field and the lowest-ranked.”
