The spinoff company of General Growth Properties that will include the undeveloped land in Columbia has a new old name. Temporarily called Spinco, the new company will now assume the name of the company that The Rouse Company acquired in 1996, The Howard Hughes Company. According to this article by Theresa Agovino in Crains New York Business, the chairman of the new firm, William Ackman said “Howard Hughes was a great entrepreneur, a little eccentric but very successful. It's a good name.”
