Stodgy Suburban Malaise

In this story by Larry Carson in The Sun today, the reporter described the current state of Columbia as “a comfortable but stodgy suburban malaise.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Stodgy? What's wrong with "stodgy"? I mean, have you been out salsa dancing lately, WB?

Sometimes stodgy can be a good thing. Quiet. Calm. Friendly. Nod to the neighbors. Sip a glass of wine. No one gets jostled in line at the theater. No one pulls a handgun at the quickie mart. We all just get along.

Let me guess, you're gonna paint your hair blue?

Just kidding.

Right on Bob. WB, you're stodgy.
