At lunch today TW and I were talking about the Vancouver Winter Games. On the TV screens surrounding us in The Green Turtle were images of a curling match between the United States and China.
“It’s kind of like watching bowling in slow motion” TW quipped.

I like curling. Even tried it once at the Potomac Curling Club in Laurel.
I curl, and I even have my own set of stones, handed down, father to son, for three generatons.
We watched this match during lunch from Loonies in Maple Lawn. Riveting!
Oh, and it's actually more like shuffleboard, but requires a great deal more strenth and balance. Notice the interplay of the stones, blocking, striking, setting up positions. You don't see that in bowling--maybe lawn bowling, croquet, or bocci?
I feel like I'm a comment killer. What do you other anons think?
eh. That's what I think. Hey, you asked.
I tried to carry my curling stones down to the pond at Turf Valley today. First, they each weigh about 45 pounds (20 kilos?). Second, the ice is a combination of ice and snow.
I decided that discretion was the better part of valor, and decided to watch the most recent episode of LOST via iTunes, instead.
