With the possible exception of the loco community of skiers, almost everyone else is pleased with how mild our winter has been. Despite November predictions by the Capital Weather Gang of ten inches of total snowfall, so far we've only had two.
As far as records go, it has been the third mildest. According to this story by Martin Weil in The Washington Post the average temperature for the three month winter season was 43.3 degrees, the record holder "was in 1889-90, with 44.3.”
Then again, it ain’t over yet. March can still hold some surprises.
