News about News

I can’t believe this story by Larry Carson in The Sun warranted a spot on the front page of today’s paper. Columbia resident Anne Geddes is irate that CA won’t remove Fox News from the large screen televisions in the exercise rooms. Currently Fox is on three of the gyms 40 large screen televisions.

“Geddes said she's feeling brushed off and doesn't accept the explanation from association officials that Fox is the highest-rated cable news channel. She says that can't be the case in liberal-leaning Columbia, and she insists she is not giving up.”

Great. Another person who think she speaks for the “people of Columbia.”

I did like one of her points though. When challenged that removing Fox News might be censorship she countered that, "They won't show the Playboy channel".

Can we trade?

Well, I think the Playboy channel trade is an Apples to Silk Sheets comparison, and therefore not valid. How about trading for Al Jazeera? She'd probably enjoy that while she rowed.

I feel like the only reasonable compromise is to keep Fox News and also add Playboy Channel...then everyone is happy....

LOL at Dave's suggestion...

Does anyone really consider Playboy to be porn? I think the military ban of porn on bases even excludes Playboy.
