Mother Nature Gives HoCo An Assist

On Tuesday evening 100,000 gallons of waste water was accidentally released from the Little Patuxent Water Reclamation Plant in Savage into the Little Patuxent River. Less than twenty four hours later a torrential rainstorm hit HoCo, complete with unseasonable thunder and lightning, and cleaned everything up.

It didn’t need much. According to this story by David Greisman in Explore Howard, health officials said the wastewater that was released “had been 90 percent treated.”

“Health officials said that they expected the sewage would quickly be diluted due to it largely having been treated and because of the heavy rain the following day.”

I think Mother Nature was pissed.
