I’ve written a few posts on the impending demise of local home builder, Altieri Homes. They were once one of the largest regional homebuilders with projects in at least three states. The company headquarters was located on Red Branch Road in
I speak of them as if they are no more because for all intents and purposes they are no more.
According to this story in this week’s Baltimore Business Journal, Altieri Homes has lost its state charter. “When a business loses its charter, it loses its legal status as a corporation, including its right to sue others in court.”
The Alteri home buyers who are waiting for the company to fix construction problems will find themselves waiting in a very long line. The firm is in default of a $3.7 million loan with Wachovia, “a $1.1 million judgment in Baltimore County Court sought by John H. Myers and Son Inc.; A $300,212 judgment in favor of Commonwealth Construction Co., Inc. in Howard County Court; and a $542,000 judgment brought in
And now the PA Attorney Generals Office has filed suit against them!

Altieri was one of the worst. Never honoring anything. Not sure how howard county let them stick around a long time. The worst is for all the homeowners they lied and mistreated. They didn't honor anything and my house has all kinds of things wrong. No one would help so I was stuck. Nothing surprises me with them. They had a quality control guy who couldn't do anything. The subs they used were the worst. They did a community in Pasadena. Md that has. Problems with every house. One of the owners told a homeowner who had problems that you would think these were million dollar homes. That summed it up to me. I wish I could get some reimbursement for all I lost and had to repair in m home
ReplyDeleteThere should be a state fund. For anyone who has a home built by them. Its unfair. We've had problems since day one. I was told it was a waste of time to sue them. Anyone remember Christian. He didn't know a thing. Any ideas ?wish there was a fund.
ReplyDeleteLeave the poor people alone! they're in debt because of the economy. People are loosing their jobs as it is they just went down faster than everyone else. The court hearing got moved to monday. I know this family and i know whats going to happen on monday. Just please leave them alone.
ReplyDeleteLeave them alone??? They STOLE from people. They LIED to people. They deserve everything they have coming to them. They knew exactly what they were doing when they took deposits for houses they never intended to build. They knew about the shoddy workmanship in the houses they built (mine was one of them, I have four windows leaking and nails poking through the ceiling) and they still have not completed the roads in my development after 3 YEARS. They wouldn't return my calls when I wanted this stuff fixed. And you want the homeowners, who are the VICTIMS here, to leave this family alone? No. No way. I hope they read these comments so they can see how they've ruin hundreds of peoples' lives.
ReplyDeleteAre you crazy? They aren't in debt because of the economy. I worked there for years and these people are criminals who hide behind faith to look innocent. They are the worst. They forge ground rod certificates, punch people in the face and are the kings of misappropriating funds. They belong in jail. Their sister and father do not, Scott and Todd, do not, but Daren and Greig do.
ReplyDeleteLeave them alone? Pull the wool off your eyes, and check your belongings! They are nasty, repulsive people and if I were Frank, I would move cry that my sons were such crooks. Also, anyone having water issues in the house corriding things?
ReplyDeleteyup....they're crooks all right. No doubt they padded their wallets before doing down to make sure they could continue living life as they, their wives, and children grew accustomed. They owe business millions, homeowners millions, and even their own amployees - who worked without paychecks and coughed up some of their own money to finish projects they were working on to save their own reputations. It seems D and G have fled the state. Such honorable men.....I think not!
ReplyDeleteI heard they moved to Texas.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous said...yes daren and Greg did move to Texas...i worked for them for over 4yrs.and they still owe me for the last 2 weeks that i worked..they are crooks...they had illegal immagrants working for them also
ReplyDeleteApparently they are building homes in Texas.they still owe me for 2 weeks of pay,and i understand they are doing pretty good and yes they did have illegal immigrants working for them.what comes around goes around, they will get what is coming to them.
ReplyDeleteTexas should run them into Arizona. Then maybe some justice.
